ABYAN, March 01 (YPA) – A citizen was killed and another injured on Wednesday in a shooting at the Saudi-led coalition-held Abyan province, southern Yemen.
Local sources affirmed that bodyguards of Abyan governor, Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, loyal to the coalition, opened fire towards the citizen Abdullah Fahim Al-Dawil, after a verbal altercation inside the governmental office building.
Abyan has witnessed security chaos since the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia took control of the capital of the province in August 2019, following the expulsion of the “Hadi” government from the city of Aden, with the complicity of the Saudi forces.
