UAE-backed militias arrest 8 recruits of Islah party in Shabwa

SHABWA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – About 8 recruits belonging to the Islah Party militants were arreated on Tuesday by the UAE-backed Shabwa Defense Forces in Shabwa province.

Media outlets reported, quoting tribal sources, the forces, led by the son of the Shabwa governor, Awad Ibn al-Wazir, arrested the recruits from the people of Shabwa after their return from Marib.

The governor later refused the residents’ demands to release them.

The step came as part of a series of episodes aimed at severing the relationship of the people of the oil0rich province with the Islah Party since the overthrow of its former governor in Shabwa, Mohammed bin Adio.
