Four Palestinians injured in settler attack on villages of Nablus
QUDS, May 30 (YPA) – Four Palestinians were injured on Saturday after Israeli occupation’s settlers attacked the village of Madama, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, while the occupation forces reportedly detained a Palestinian resident near the village.
According to local sources, clashes erupted when residents confronted settlers who attacked a home in Madama. Witnesses said the settlers fired live ammunition during the incident.
The sources said settlers targeted Palestinian homes near the bypass road adjacent to the village, with gunfire heard throughout the area.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its medical teams treated four people injured by live fire and physical assaults during the clashes.
Medical officials said the injured included a 72-year-old man shot in the foot, a 53-year-old man shot in the thigh, a 46-year-old man struck by bullet fragments in the face, and a 40-year-old man who sustained injuries after being severely beaten.
The Red Crescent also stated that Israeli forces obstructed ambulance crews and prevented them from reaching some of the injured individuals promptly.
Residents further reported that Israeli forces detained two Palestinian civilians during attacks by settlers on shepherds in the outskirts of Madama.
The village has experienced repeated settler and military incursions in recent months, including attacks on homes, property, infrastructure, and agricultural land.
The incidents came amid a broader wave of settler attacks across the occupied West Bank. According to the Palestinian Commission Against the Wall and Settlements, 1,637 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers were documented in the West Bank and occupied city of Al-Quds during April alone, including 540 attributed to settlers and 1,097 carried out by the occupation forces.
