Lebanese Resistance attacks several Israeli military sites, targets

BEIRUT, May 30 (YPA) – The Islamic resistance in Lebanon announced on Saturday that it carried out a series of military operations over the past two days, including intercepting an Israeli Hermes 450 reconnaissance drone, ambushing an Israeli occupation force near the town of Ghandouriya.

In five separate statements, the resistance said the operations were conducted in response to what it described as continued Israeli ceasefire violations, attacks on southern Lebanese villages, and civilian casualties, as part of the ongoing confrontation it refers to as the “Battle of the Eaten Storm.”

According to the first statement, resistance fighters engaged an Israeli Hermes 450 (“Zik”) drone over the airspace of Eastern Zoutar on Friday using a surface-to-air missile after it allegedly violated Lebanese airspace.

The statement also announced two separate rocket attacks targeting the settlement of Kiryat Shmona during the early hours of Saturday.

In another operation, the resistance clarified its fighters carried out an ambush against an Israeli force attempting to advance toward the eastern outskirts of Ghandouriya.

It said explosive devices were detonated against the force, followed by artillery and rocket fire, resulting in casualties before the occupation troops withdrew under heavy smoke cover. The area was subsequently subjected to Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling, according to the statement.

The resistance further reported launching a precision missile strike against the Meron surveillance and air operations base in northern Israeli entity early Saturday morning.

The group affirmed that its military operations would continue in response to Israeli aggression, which it accuses of violating Lebanese sovereignty and targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
