Signature campaign calls on EU to stop funding Israeli occupation’s armaments

EUROPE, June 19 (YPA) – The European Coordinating Committee of Palestine Committees and Associations and academic institutions recently launched a petition calling on the European Union (EU) to sever ties with Israeli institutions and stop funding companies involved in genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Criticism is mounting over the EU’s continued funding of Israeli universities and companies for weapons development, despite Tel Aviv’s genocidal actions in the Gaza Strip.

The issue of EU funding for Israeli universities and companies under the Horizon Europe research program and the European Defense Fund has resurfaced.

More than 3,000 people have participated in the signature campaign as of Thursday, including Nouria Ouali, a professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Labor at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium.
