Israeli occupation continues its raids and bombings on towns in southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, Sept. 16 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation continued its attacks on southern Lebanon, on Thursday, with warplanes carrying out a large explosion in the town of Yahmor al-Shaqif, and two missile strikes on the town of Mansouri amidst explosions whose unprecedented tremors were felt by residents of neighboring villages.

The Ali al-Taher heights on the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa were subjected to intermittent artillery shelling, while drones flew at low altitude over Beirut, the southern suburbs, and Hermel.

This escalation comes despite Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s announcement on June 18 of a memorandum of understanding signed electronically between Washington and Tehran that included a ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon. However, the occupation continues its daily violations since escalating its aggression last March, which resulted in thousands of martyrs and wounded and the displacement of 1.5 million Lebanese.
