Negev Summit postponed due to expansion of settlements in West Bank

WORLD, June 26 (YPA) – The Zionist Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, announced postponement of the so-called “Negev Summit” due to the expansion of construction in settlements in the West Bank.

“The summit scheduled for next July was postponed, and the reason for the postponement is the decision to expand construction in settlements in the West Bank,” The website “i24” reported, citing Cohen, noting that “according to the plan, the meeting was to be held with the participation of two to three countries with which Israel does not have diplomatic relations.”

According to Cohen, “Israel believes that in the future meeting these countries will participate, and this will be one of the steps towards normalizing relations with these countries.”

“The United States plays a pivotal role in supporting the meeting of ministers,” he said.

Last Friday, Morocco delayed  a summit of signatories to the Abraham Accords, which Morocco was scheduled to host this summer, in response to the escalation of violence in the occupied West Bank.
