Jeddah Port vessel traffic drops sharply amid shipping disruptions

RIYADH, Sept. 24 (YPA) – The shipping and logistics company Future Entity confirmed that maritime shipments bound eastward for Jeddah Port have been severely disrupted, noting a sharp decline in vessel berthing activity at the port since July 20.

In recent data cited by media outlets, the company said all shipments bound for Saudi Arabia from Asian countries have been forced to completely reroute around the Cape of Good Hope, extending delivery times and causing additional delays of 12 to 14 days.

The data also indicated that Saudi authorities were forced to reduce operations at the ports of Jeddah and Dammam in conjunction with the Saudi National Day, before already delayed deliveries could be rescheduled.

The situation highlights the depth of the logistical crisis and the economic repercussions of disruptions to maritime traffic linked to Saudi Arabia and the ongoing confrontation in the Red Sea.
