Saudi Arabia seeks to establish new political entity in southern Yemen

ADEN, June 11 (YPA) – There are new arrangements to establish a new political entity  to lead the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition  in Aden” instead of the “Presidential Leadership Council and the parity government, informed Yemeni sources based in Riyadh revealed.

The sources said that Saudi Arabia pushed this arrangement to announce the economic collapse in Aden.

The aim of establishing a new political entity is to provide Riyadh with an appropriate share of decision-making dominance in the new structure last May, the UAE managed to acquire most of the composition of the Presidential Council, after two leaders of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) joined it, the sources explained.

The sources pointed out that Saudi Arabia had previously made remarks on what it considered “the tendencies of Prime Minister Moeen Abdul Malik to the UAE.”

According to the sources, the arrangements are currently underway to announce the inability of pro-coalition government headed by Moeen Abdul Malik to continue its tasks, noting that the government is exempted, followed by new negotiations between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi to form a new “presidential council” instead of the current “Presidency Council”.

The sources added  that entering the stage of economic collapse represents the most appropriate way for Riyadh to return to the forefront of decision-making control in the Yemeni areas under the control of the coalition.

Although the pro-coalition government received about $ 3 billion last February in the form of grants and loans from the Arab Fund for Development, but these amounts were not reflected in any way on improving the economic conditions in the country.
