Fuel shortage crisis for Gaza hospital generators keeps unresolved

GAZA, July 05 (YPA) – The Gaza-based ministry of health declared on Saturday that the fuel shortage crisis, needed to operate generators in hospitals, has continued to escalate, marking an unprecedented milestone.

“The crisis is being exacerbated the severe depletion of the health system and the remaining functioning hospitals,” the ministry said In a statement.

The statement explained that the increasing pressure on critical injuries would upsurge the need to ensure the continued operation of electrical generators to operate vital departments.

It stressed that the Israeli occupation was deliberately pursuing a policy of rationing fuel supplies, which does not allow additional time for hospitals to operate.

The statement noted that temporary and emergency solutions may mean waiting for life-saving departments to cease operations.

It clarified that hospital engineering teams were exhausted from monitoring the operation of generators and rationalization measures, which have become futile.

The ministry’s statement renewed its urgent appeal to relevant authorities to intervene and pressure the occupation to allow the entry of fuel supplies necessary for the operation of the generators.
