Assassination of military official shakes coalition’s brigade in Dhalea

DHALEA, July 05 (YPA) – A direct assassination targeting a senior military official rocked on Friday a military brigade loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Dhalea province.

Informed sources reported that Faisal Hassan Hadim, the “Procurement Officer of the Fifth Special Operations Brigade,” was killed inside the brigade’s headquarters in the Morais area, north of Dhaea.

The sources stated that gunmen opened fire on Hadim as he was heading to the Al-Jumayma position of the brigade, which is loyal to the Islah party.
This incident, believed to have been carried out by gunmen affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), raises concerns about escalating tensions and score-settling among allied factions.

Accusations of Defection and Settling of Scores

In a swift response, the brigade issued a statement accusing a group of recruits it described as “defectors” of being behind the assassination, indicating that they were led by the so-called “Asraf Mohammed Al-Najjar.”

Information indicates that a number of recruits involved in the incident were arrested, while others managed to escape to an unknown location.

Sources believe this incident stemmed from a settling of scores between loyalists of the Islah Party and the STC, which portends new complications for the security and military landscape in the region.
