ABAYN, May 03 (YPA) – An unknown gunman murdered a citizen in one of the western districts of Abyan province, southern Yemen, on Wednesday.
Local sources said that the unidentified gunman shot and killed a citizen in the city center of Ludar without knowing the identity of the victim.
The sources further stated that the gunman escaped from the scene of the crime without being apprehended or disclosing his intentions or justifications for doing so.
A state of insecurity has expanded after the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia took control of the Abyan districts last August with the so-called “East Arrows” operation, which was launched after the end of the military and security presence of the Islah party in the center of Shabwa province.
