SANAA, Dec. 26 (YPA) – At least 12 people were killed on Sunday in tribal clashes that took place in Darfur, western Sudan.
Last night, the Sudan news agency quoted the South Darfur State Security Committee as saying: “a group of shepherds riding camels and motorcycles began attacking the village of Amori and the village was burned, four citizens were killed and three others were injured.
The clashes took place between Arab tribes of shepherds and other African tribes in a village near Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state, according to eyewitnesses.
One person was also killed in the clashes, which spread to neighboring villages, whose shops were looted and partially burned.
In turn, a medical source confirmed to Agence France-Presse that 20 wounded people with gunshot wounds were taken to Nyala hospital.
