Morocco, Israeli entity, US agree to upgrade diplomatic ties to full embassies

RABAT, Sept. 17 (YPA) – Morocco, Israeli occupation entity, and the United States have agreed during a trilateral meeting to upgrade the diplomatic representation between Rabat and Tel Aviv to full embassies with an exchange of ambassadors, as well as to resume direct commercial flights by Moroccan and Israeli airlines before the end of this year.

The announcement was made in a joint statement released following a meeting featuring US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, and Israeli occupation’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar. The officials convened to discuss the prospects of bilateral and trilateral relations in line with the Joint Declaration signed on December 22, 2020.

According to the statement, all three parts reaffirmed their commitment to deepening full diplomatic relations. On the economic front, Morocco and Israeli occupation entity expressed their intention to finalize bilateral agreements on investment protection and the avoidance of double taxation by the end of 2026.
