TEHRAN, Aug. 23 (YPA) – Iran’s acting Defense Minister, Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Ibn Reza, confirmed on Sunday that Iran is preparing to confront potential threats over the next fifty years, noting that the ministry has prepared forward-looking studies and plans to develop its defense capabilities.
Ibn Reza said during meetings with committees in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament) that “the enemy” used military and cyber tools, proxy forces, and advanced weapons in the last war, according to Mehr News Agency.
He added that the ministry gathered important intelligence and technological data during the war and, based on it, reassessed its priorities and paths for developing defense capabilities.
He explained that defense production did not stop but rather grew in some areas, alongside the development of technological and operational capabilities. He stressed that the ministry will continue to rely on national capabilities and scientific personnel, emphasizing that human capital and knowledge are among the most important pillars of the Iranian defense industry.
He also pointed to the ministry’s contribution in the areas of relief and providing basic needs, while members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly affirmed their support for the armed forces and the strengthening of defense capabilities.
