BBC removes documentary film on Gaza children after Zionist pressure

LONDON, Feb. 22 (YPA) – The BBC has announced its decision to remove the documentary film “Gaza: Surviving in a War Zone” from its iPlayer platform after it was revealed that the narrator, Abdullah, is the son of Ayman Al-Yazouri, who serves as the deputy minister of agriculture in the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip.

The BBC said in a statement that the film, which highlights stories about children’s experiences in Gaza, raised questions after its screening. The channel added that it is currently reviewing the work in cooperation with the production company, and the film will remain unavailable on the platform while this review is carried out.

In a comment by assistant director James Roberts, he indicated that the main aim of the film was to highlight the daily lives of the people of Gaza, and how they face difficulties amid the conflict. He explained that filming ended on the day of the ceasefire on January 19, as the film focused on the stories of three children and a young woman caring for a newborn, all of whom were affected by the repercussions of the war.

The documentary also includes footage from Al-Aqsa Hospital in Gaza, which was the only functioning hospital in January 2024, documenting the efforts of doctors struggling to save lives under extremely difficult conditions.
