‘Lebanon cabinet is acting contrary to President’s inaugural address’: Amal Movement

BEIRUT, Aug. 06 (YPA) – Lebanon’s Amal Movement affirmed on Wednesday that the Nawaf Salam’s government “is acting contrary to what was stated in the inaugural speech and in violation of its ministerial statement”.

This came in a statement by the movement’s central media Office in response to the Lebanese government’s decision to withdraw Hezbollah’s weapons.

The statement added: “Since the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli enemy on November 27, 2024, Lebanon has fully complied with the provisions of the agreement and has been continuing to implement this agreement, while the Israeli enemy has not complied from the first moments and is still persisting in its aggression with air raids and assassinations by drones, violating Lebanese airspace and continuing to occupy vast areas of Lebanese territory, in addition to preventing the residents of the border villages from returning after completely destroying them.”

“The Lebanese government, which is rushing to offer more free concessions to the Israeli enemy through new agreements, should have directed its efforts to first consolidating the ceasefire and putting an end to the Israeli killing machine that has so far claimed hundreds of Lebanese citizens,” it clarified.
