Tribal gunmen abduct members of “Dera Al-Watan” forces in Abyan

ABYAN, Feb. 11 (YPA) – Several personnel and leaders from the Saudi-funded “Dera Al-Watan” forces were reportedly abducted by tribal gunmen in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

According to local sources, members of the Bakazem tribe carried out the abduction of several Dera Al-Watan recruits last night in the Dhiqah area of Al-Mahfad district.

Among those taken was Nabil Al-Aghbari, the head of the medical sector within the military police. The captives were reportedly taken to an unknown location.

The sources explained that the kidnapping was an act of protest by the tribal gunmen following their dismissal by the Dera Al-Watan leaders, which led to their dues being arbitrarily withheld. This action angered the tribesmen, prompting them to carry out the abduction as a means of pressuring for the restoration of their rights.
