UN: Rebuilding Gaza requires more than $53 billion

SANAA, Feb. 11 (YPA) – A United Nations report said, on Tuesday, that rebuilding the Gaza Strip, which was destroyed by the Israeli war, requires more than $53 billion, including more than $20 billion over the first three years.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, wrote in a report prepared at the request of the General Assembly that the amounts needed for the recovery and reconstruction in the short, medium and long term in the Gaza Strip are estimated at $53.142 billion.

The short-term funding needed for the first three years is estimated at $20.568 billion.
