In Video: Angry protests organized in Aden against deterioration of basic services

ADEN, Feb. 05 (YPA) – Angry popular protests organized, on Wednesday evening, in which dozens of citizens participated, expressing their dissatisfaction with the sharp economic deterioration and the deterioration of basic services in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the coalition in southern Yemen.

The protests were concentrated in the 90th Street, where protesters set fire to car tires and placed stone barriers, paralyzing traffic.

These protests came in response to the continued power and water outages in the city for the fourth consecutive month, amid the absence of any tangible moves by the government affiliated with the coalition, which is based in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Citizens described the situation in the city as catastrophic, expressing their dissatisfaction with the authorities’ disregard for their ongoing suffering.

The worsening economic crisis has angered the southern street, with the Yemeni riyal continuing to collapse sharply against the dollar, with the exchange rate reaching more than 2,250 riyals, and the collapse was accompanied by an unprecedented rise in the prices of basic food commodities, deepening the suffering of citizens who are now unable to secure their daily needs.
