Mahra people reject deploying Saudi-backed factions

MAHRA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – Member of the sit-in committee against foreign occupation in Mahra province, Mohammed Saeed Balhaf, affirmed on Thursday that the people of the province would not accept the so-called Saudi-backed Dera al-Watan factions.

In a statement, Balhaf explained that the Mahra people would try by all means to keep these factions away from the province, in cooperation with all segments of Mahri society.

Balhaf stated that Dera al-Watan forces or Homeland Shield was not in the interest of the people of Mahra, but rather to implement foreign agendas.

He accused Saudi Arabia of recruiting these Salafist elements-affiliated forces that were brought to Mahra to destabilize the security and stability of the province, and showed their intentions during the current stage, referring to the “Al Hajouri Group”.

He called on the people of Mahra and the rest of the local components and forces to stand united against any foreign plans.
