Recruit of Saudi-backed factions died in Mahra due to shocking reasons

MAHRA, Aug. 12 (YPA) – A recruit from the Saudi “Homeland Shield” factions died, on Tuesday, in Al Mahra Governorate, which borders the Sultanate of Oman.

The reasons of death sparked widespread shock among the people of the governorate.

A well-informed local source reported that recruit Malik Sabiti Haboud Abdul Razzaq, from the Saudi-funded “Homeland Shield” factions, died in the Qishn camp as a result of harsh training conditions that amounted to “deliberate personal insults.”

The source explained that the Saudi forces in Al Mahra had brought in trainers from Lahj in recent months, noting that their methods of dealing with recruits “do not rise to the level of humanity and even exceed the standards of treating animals.”

The source indicated that the death of Malik, who hailed from the village of Al-Abri on the outskirts of Al Ghaydah, sparked widespread anger among his colleagues and family, who protested against the ill-treatment and malnutrition, explaining that the recruits’ training takes place under the scorching sun until some of them lose consciousness, amid blatant neglect of their health and dignity.

The incident reflects continuing criticism of the harsh training methods used by the pro-Saudi factions, amid demands to hold those in charge of these camps accountable.
