Groom kidnapped in Aden during his wedding because of national anthem

ADEN, Aug. 12 (YPA) – Factions affiliated with the UAE-backed Transitional Council (STC) stormed a wedding hall in Aden City, southern Yemen, and kidnapped a groom on his wedding night.

Human rights sources in the city reported that armed members of the “Asifa” factions, led by Awsan al-Anshli, stormed the Aden Mall hall and kidnapped the son of businessman Ahmed Jalab.

The abduction occurred because the national anthem of the Republic of Yemen was played during the ceremony.

The sources stated that the raid was carried out in a provocative manner, terrifying those present, amidst the silence of the government and the Presidential Council loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.

No further information has been released regarding the groom’s fate, while speculation indicates that his release may be in exchange for a ransom.
