ABYAN, Jan. 11 (YPA) – Local sources reported that two displaced girls were seriously injured, on Saturday, as a result of the explosion of a bomb left by the Islah Party elements in the coastal city of Shaqra in Abyan governorate.
The sources confirmed that the two girls, “Iman Amin Zaher, 6 years old, and Maryam Amin Zaher, 8 years old,” from Hodeida governorate, were seriously injured as a result of the bomb explosion in the Hisn Saeed area in the Shaqra IDP camp.
The sources pointed out that the two girls were playing with the bomb without realizing its danger, which led to them sustaining serious injuries and being transferred to the hospital for treatment.
It is noteworthy that the Islah elements planted large quantities of mines in the city of Shaqra and its surroundings after taking control of the city and making it a headquarters for its military leaders fleeing the confrontations in Aden with the Transitional Council factions during August 2019.
