Sanaa forces implement security measures in Taiz’s Al-Hujariyah, abolishing illegal levies
TAIZ, Oct. 29 (YPA) -Sanaa forces have implemented a series of field procedures and arrangements in recent days, drawing widespread public support from residents in the Al-Hujariyah area of rural Taiz Governorate.
Local sources in Taiz confirmed that Sanaa forces and security agencies abolished illegal levies and fees previously collected from citizens at gunpoint by Islah Party elements at checkpoints across Al-Hujariyah.
The sources explained that checkpoints affiliated with the 4th Brigade—led by the infamous Abu Bakr Al-Jabouli—alongside elements of the 35th Brigade in Al-Mawasit and representatives of the Saudi-backed authorities, had been imposing exorbitant sums on truck drivers and vendors of vegetables, petroleum products, and cooking gas, forcing them to pay at gunpoint.
These measures received broad commendation from local residents after Sanaa forces normalized the security situation in the area. Residents emphasized that the steps directly contribute to easing their burdens and facilitating movement and commercial activity.
For years, residents across various areas of Al-Hujariyah suffered from violations and abuses committed by elements at Islah checkpoints, prior to Sanaa forces taking control of the area and repelling the Saudi mobilizations from it.
