Pakistan carries out missile strikes on border areas with Iran

WORLD, Jan. 18 (YPA) –  Seven targets in three locations in Iran (Saravan, Chabahar, and Hingol) were attacked, claiming them to be bases for terrorists.

This was reported by the Pakistani Armed Forces News X account. It was reported that these explosions left several injuries.

Earlier in the day, news reports and images were circulated on social media about an explosion that occurred in part of the city of Saravan in the Sistan and Baluchestan province.

Following the explosion near Saravan, Pakistani media reported that this incident resulted from an attack by the Pakistani army on Baloch separatist groups in Iran.

Meanwhile, an account affiliated with the Pakistani Armed Forces denied any attack on the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), describing it as fake news spread by Indian and Iranian users, alleging that they attacked separatist targets in Baluchistan in Iran.

Former Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that terrorism poses a serious challenge to both countries. He emphasized the need to resolve this crisis together.

He stressed the importance of the fraternal and historical relations between Pakistan and Iran, urging the preservation of these relations and avoiding any harm to them.

Later, Alireza Marhamati, provincial deputy governor for security and law enforcement, said that Pakistan carried out a missile strike on a border village in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Thursday morning, killing seven foreign nationals. Another explosion occurred near the city of Saravan without causing injuries.
