Palestine: Israeli occupation forces suppress anti-settlement marches in West Bank

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Sept. 22 (YPA) – Dozens of Palestinians were injured and suffocated on Friday  by Israeli occupation forces’ attacks on the weekly anti-settlement marches in several areas in the occupied West Bank.

According to local sources, three Palestinians were shot and injured with rubber-coated steel bullets as Israeli forces suppressed the weekly anti-settlement march in Kafr Qaddoum village to the north of Qalqilia.

In Nablus, the occupation forces raided the town of Beita, south of the city, sparking violent clashes with Palestinian youths. The clashes extended to the towns of Beit Dajan, Qaryut and Khirbet Tana, following the occupation’s crackdown of the weekly anti-settlement marches.

Coordinator for Committee confronting Settlements in Khirbet Tana, said that the Israeli occupation forces fired 50 tear gas canisters at the citizens and suppressed their presence near the water pond in Tana Al-Fawqa.

He pointed to the continuing tension in Tana, while forcing residents away from the water pool, which the settlers covet control.

In Hebron, the Red Crescent teams dealt with an injured young man after he was assaulted by the occupation forces in the Tel Rumeida area in the center of Hebron, and he was taken to Alia Hospital.
