GAZA, Aug. 16 (YPA) – Palestinian resistance factions announced, on Saturday, that they had carried out concentrated bombing operations targeting military sites belonging to the Israeli occupation forces in the southern Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said that it had shelled an Israeli command and control site on the Salah al-Din axis south of Rafah, stressing that the targeting came as part of a response to the occupation’s ongoing crimes against civilians.
In the same context, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, announced that it had shelled an Israeli army command and control headquarters in the Al-Barasi area south of the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, noting that the operation had achieved direct hits.
The Al-Qassam Brigades, in conjunction with the Al-Quds Brigades, also announced that they had shelled an Israeli command and control site in the vicinity of the court complex south of Khan Yunis with several mortar shells, stressing that the joint operation had accurately hit its targets.
These attacks come at a time when the Israeli occupation continues to escalate its military operations against the Gaza Strip, amid growing international calls for a ceasefire and to avoid further humanitarian collapse.
