Secret meeting held between STC’s officials, Israeli diplomats

SOCOTRA, Aug. 26 (YPA) – A meeting has been held between officials of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the Israeli soldiers and diplomats for the past two days in Abu Dhabi.

Sources familiar with the matter stated that the governor of Socotra, loyal to the STC, met on Friday with the Israeli ambassador to the UAE.

The source said that the meeting came within the framework of Israel’s suspicious activities on Socotra Island with the support of the UAE.

“These provocative meetings spark a state of anger and indignation among the people of Socotra, as it comes within the framework of Emirati-Israeli normalization, and the pro-coalition government and allied factions.” according to the sources.

Experts warned of the risk of these moves, through which the UAE seeks to expand its influence in the Socotra archipelago and the Abd al-Kour island of the archipelago, after displacing its residents and establishing Israeli bases.

According to observers, Emirati planes arrive in Socotra from time to time, carrying Israeli officers and soldiers, as part of moves to establish joint military bases with the Zionist entity in Socotra, Abd al-Kuri Island, and other military installations that pose a threat to international navigation in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.
