Security official exposes conspiracy to destabilize Abyan

ABYAN, Aug. 13 (YPA) – A senior security official loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen’s Abyan governorate has threatened to resign within 72 hours in protest against what he described as “marginalization” and conspiracies against him by other pro-coalition leaders.

In a recorded statement, Ali Nasser Abu Mashal Al-Kazmi, the security director of Abyan Governorate, gave pro-coalition local authorities a 72-hour ultimatum to name his replacement.

He accused them of abandoning and depriving the province’s security forces of their most basic rights, warning that failure to address these grievances would force him to step down.

Al-Kazmi stressed that he is not seeking personal gain or political position, but rather demanding that security agencies be empowered to perform their duties and protect citizens from “heinous organized crimes,” in a direct accusation that the STC leaders in the governorate are obstructing his work.

He further stated that he never begged for even the most basic necessities such as food supplies for recruits or fuel for military vehicles, criticizing higher authorities for ignoring repeated requests.

Al-Kazmi also accused unnamed parties of “plotting to destabilize Abyan’s security.”

The security director of Abyan added that he is facing a “fierce war” targeting him personally and described the situation in Abyan as “painful.”

He accused local leadership of looting security allocations and obstructing operations in favor of human trafficking and smuggling of African migrants into the region.
