Saudi-backed forces take over STC’s sites in Aden

ADEN, June 11 (YPA) – Several activists loyal to the UAE-backed Transitional Council (STC) denied on Sunday reports circulating for the Saudi-backed Dara al-Watan forces’ control over the STC’s military sites in Aden city, south of Yemen.

Sources in the STC said that the evacuation of the “Spinning and Weaving” camp was based on understandings with the leadership of the Dara al-Watan forces, stressing the STC forces did not leave the camp by force, or any battle clashes between the two parties.

On Saturday, local media reported that reinforcements sent by Saudi Arabia to back These forces, had entered a camp affiliated with the STC militias in the city of Aden.

It should be noted that Dara al-Watan forces have been physically present in Aden since last March.

Observers likely said that growing these forces would lead to a fierce battle with factions loyal to the UAE, in light of the escalating struggle for control between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi in the Yemeni areas controlled by the coalition.
