Al-Qaeda targets sites of Shabwa defense forces with Islah drones

SHABWA, May 23 (YPA) – A commander in UAE’s “Shabwa defense” factions was injured on Tuesday due to an aerial bombardment in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

Sources confirmed that a site belonging to Shabwa defense forces in al-Masinaa area of al-Saaid directorate was subjected to aerial bombardment by a drone belonging to Al-Qaeda obtained from Islah party, resulted in injuring “staff of the first Shabwa defense brigade” Ahmed Mohsen Suleimani, seriously.

The sources reported that the drones dropped several missiles while Suleimani was on board his military vehicle at the site of Masinaa, located south of the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa.

Military leaders in the coalition accused Islah Party of indirectly financing terrorist elements with the flight cargo bound for Marib and leaking the date of the truck’s movement, the strength of the force tasked with securing it and the destination it was going to.
