3.9-Magnitude earthquake strikes northwest of Al-Udayn in Yemen’s Ibb Governorate
IBB, Aug. 09 (YPA) – A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck approximately 12 kilometers northwest of Al-Udayn District in Ibb Governorate at a depth of 6 kilometers at 1:35 a.m. on Sunday, according to stations of the Seismological and Volcanological Observatory Center.
Residents in surrounding areas, including Wusab, Utmah, and Shamir, reported feeling the tremor, which caused anxiety among locals. No casualties or material damage have been reported so far.
The monitoring center confirmed that no subsequent tremors have been recorded following the earthquake, noting that it falls within the ongoing seismic activity observed in various parts of Yemen. Competent authorities continue to monitor and track any potential developments or aftershocks.
