STC militia storm military brigade belongs to Al-Alimi council in Abyan

ABYAN, Feb. 27 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council STC)’s militias stormed on Monday the headquarters of one of the brigades loyal to the chairman of Riyadh Presidential Council, Rashad al-Alimi, in Abyan province.

Informed local sources said that the support battalion led by Abdul Rahman Al-Faqih, stormed the headquarters of 111 Infantry Brigade in Ahwar district.

The storming of the brigade headquarters with various types of light and medium weapons, amid great tension, because of raising Yemeni flags, and the failure to take down photos of al-Alimi from the office of the brigade commander, the sources added.

The sources also explained that tribal mediation from sheikhs of Ahwar sought to contain the situation before the explosion and to calm the situation.
