Israeli occupation opens investigation into Yemen’s ballistic missiles

QUDS, Aug. 23 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army has opened an investigation into the reasons behind the failure of its defense systems to intercept a ballistic missile was launched from Yemen on Friday.

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth explained on Saturday that the initial military investigation affirmed that the missile was equipped with a “multi-part” explosive warhead, which split into several warheads during its flight, causing it to shatter and fragments to fall in various locations.

According to preliminary results, the defense systems were able to intercept some missiles, while others successfully managed reaching their targets.

The newspaper described the missile attack as an “unprecedented challenge” to the Iron Dome system and other air defense systems.

Yedioth Ahronoth added that the Israeli military establishment viewed this type of missile with serious concern, given its ability to confuse air defenses through multiple explosive warheads distributed along different trajectories.

Earlier, Sanaa forces announced the implementation of three special military operations targeting the Lod Airport in the occupied Yaffa region, and two Israeli occupation targets in the Yaffa and Ashkelon areas in the occupied Palestinian territories.
