SANAA, Feb. 21 (YPA) – The Saudi-led coalition refused on Tuesday to grant entry permits to Arab and Indian medical staff, who wanted to come to Sanaa, to help patients who are unable to travel.
Dr. Mutahar Al-Darwish, a head of the Supreme Medical Committee, told Al Masirah TV that thousands of patients who cannot be treated in Yemen are unable to afford the cost of traveling abroad for treatment.
He pointed out that cancerous tumors and diabetes in Yemen have exceeded the international standard in terms of spread for the years of war and siege.
Meanwhile, Deputy the Ministry of Health for the Population Sector, Dr. Najeeb Al-Qabati, said that Yemen needs about 20 years to overcome the psychological and health effects of the blockade and war.
