ABYAN, Nov. 22 (YPA) – About 2 civilians were killed on Tuesday in a shooting at Abyan province, southern Yemen.
According to local sources, gunmen believed to belong to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias opened fire towards the citizens, Yousef Nasser Al-Makhzoum, and Abdullah Ahmed Al-Majali, east of the city of Mudiyah.
The provinces’ districts are witnessing security chaos after the STC militia took control of Abyan, early last September.
The STC’s elements sent from Dhalea and Lahj suffered heavy losses by explosive devices in the campaign launched against Al-Qaeda elements, and loyal to them from Islah militants in the various districts of Abyan.
