Zakat Authority distributes aid to flood-affected people in Bayda

BAYDA, Oct. 3 (YPA) – The branch of the General Authority for Zakat in Bayda province on Saturday launched the payment of cash aid and the distribution of shelter items to those affected by the floods in Bayda district.

During the inauguration, director of the Authority’s branch in the province, Haidar Al-Gharib, said that this aid come as part of the emergency response project being implemented by the authority in several provinces of the Republic to help those affected by the rains and floods.

Haidar explained that the authority’s team, in conjunction with the distribution of these aids, carried out an inventory of the damages to assess the humanitarian situation of those affected, especially in light of the current repercussions and challenges imposed by the continuing aggression and siege.

In turn, Secretary-General of the Local Council in the district, Abdulelah al-Husaisi appreciated the authority’s role in adopting such humanitarian projects to help those affected by the floods and alleviate their suffering.”
