Twin attack targets transitional council’s militias in Aden

ADEN, Sept. 18 (YPA) – Gunmen believed to affiliate Hadi’s forces launched on Wednesday a twin attack targeting the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s militias in Aden province, southern Yemen.

Eyewitnesses said gunmen threw a grenade on a military patrol of the transitional council’s militia stationed at the local council’s building in Mualla area.

The attacked was followed by heavy gunfire from medium weapons and a quick withdrawal of the attackers, the eyewitnesses added.

Meanwhile, one of the militia elements was killed and others were injured in an armed attack believed to be carried out by Islah Party militants on a military point of the militias in Khor Maksar area in Aden.

Hadi’s forces and Islah militias have stepped up their armed attacks against the southern transitional militia gatherings after the latter took control of Hadi forces’ camps in Aden on August 10.
