Pentagon denies role in Israeli strikes on Yemen power facility

WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 (YPA) – US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) did not provide any intelligence or logistical support for the Zionist strikes that targeted the electricity facility south of the capital, Sanaa, The Monitor reported, citing a US official.

The official clarified that Washington does not want to “give the Yemenis an excuse to backtrack on the ceasefire.”

He confirmed that US ships intercepted Yemeni missiles heading toward the occupied territories but did not participate in the attacks on Yemen.

The US official also acknowledged that the Yemenis have succeeded in imposing an “effective blockade on the Zionist entity through the Red Sea.”
