HAJJA, May 27 (YPA) – A minor earthquake struck Hajjah province in northern Yemen, the monitoring stations of the Center for Earthquake and Volcano Studies said in a statement.
The center stated that the tremor occurred at 11:06 a.m. on Tuesday, registering a magnitude of 2.6 on the Richter scale at a depth of seven kilometers.
According to the statement, the earthquake was located approximately 22 kilometers northwest of the province and falls within the normal seismic activity regularly monitored in the region.
It also reassured residents that the tremor does not pose any cause for concern, stressing that such activity is considered natural and routine.
