GAZA, May 27 (YPA) – The Hamas Movement said on Tuesday that this year’s Eid al-Adha arrives amid as the continued closure of crossings by the Israeli occupation’s government and the obstruction of humanitarian, medical, and relief aid from entering the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement, the movement affirmed that the Eid al-Adha holiday comes while Gaza continues to endure a worsening humanitarian crisis caused by two years of war, blockade, starvation, and destruction, alongside ongoing displacement and settlement policies in the occupied West Bank and Al Quds.
The statement stated that the occupation’s government continues to intensify its military operations against Palestinians, their land, and holy sites, describing the actions as violations of international laws and humanitarian principles.
It congratulated the Palestinian people and the wider Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, calling for the holiday to serve as an opportunity to strengthen unity, solidarity, and support for Palestinians in the face of ongoing hardships.
The statement also extended greetings to Muslim pilgrims performing Hajj rituals, expressing hope for greater unity and collective action across the Islamic world to achieve stability, security, and support for the Palestinian cause.
The movement urged that the days of Eid be used to expand humanitarian and solidarity initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, reinforcing their resilience, pressuring for the lifting of the blockade, reopening crossings, and ending the occupation.
In its statement, Hamas also honored the Palestinians killed during the conflict, expressed hopes for the speedy recovery of the wounded and patients, and called for the release of prisoners and detainees held in Israeli prisons. The movement further reaffirmed its solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Al Quds, the occupied territories, refugee camps, and across the diaspora.
