Iran says ending war is ‘precondition’ for any deal as Pakistani mediation continues

TEHRAN, May 23 (YPA) – Intensive talks to resolve outstanding disputes remain ongoing but have yet to yield a comprehensive agreement, sources close to the Iranian negotiating team said, noting that Pakistani mediation efforts continue to bridge gaps between the parties.

According to a report by the semi-official Tasnim international news agency, quoting an informed source, the current focus of the negotiations centers pivotally on “ending the war.”

The source emphasized that no other files or issues will be broached or discussed before this core matter is fully and definitively resolved.

While the source pointed to noticeable progress in several files compared to previous rounds, they maintained that a formal and final agreement remains out of reach without a total consensus and a comprehensive settlement on all disputed issues currently on the table.
