Saudi military reinforcements arrive in Aden to secure “Al-Alimi’s” return amid tensions with “dissolved STC”
ADEN, May 13 (YPA) – New Saudi military reinforcements arrived in the city of Aden in southern Yemen on Wednesday, coming from the Al-Abr region and via the coastal road linking Aden and Hadramout.
This move is part of a security plan aimed at securing the return of the President of the ” Presidential Leadership Council,” Rashad Al-Alimi, to Maashiq Palace in the coming days.
The deployed forces seek to tighten the security grip on the city in anticipation of any armed escalation led by factions of the “dissolved” Southern Transition Council (STC), coinciding with growing calls rejecting Al-Alimi’s return and the approaching anniversary of Yemeni Unity on May 22.
This military movement comes amid a state of popular unrest and the outbreak of angry protests in the Al-Mansoura district, denouncing the collapse of basic services and the failure of the Saudi-backed government to provide fuel for power and water plants.
The situation in Aden remains open to all possibilities in light of the tension persisting since the decision to dissolve the UAE-backed “STC” and the dismissal of “Aidarus Al-Zubaidi” from the Leadership Council in early January.
