WASHINGTON, May 13 (YPA) – US Department of Defense (Pentagon) officials reported that the cost of the ongoing war with Iran has risen to approximately $29 billion to date, exceeding estimates provided to Congress just two weeks ago by $4 billion.
This spike results from increased spending linked to combat operations and defensive maneuvers in the region.
In a related context, experts from the “Kennedy School at Harvard University” warned that the total long-term cost could reach nearly $1 trillion.
They emphasized that continued operations will impose growing economic burdens on the US Treasury and taxpayers, through both direct military expenditures and indirect repercussions on global energy markets.
