Tehran announces 70% of war damage repaired in record time

TEHRAN, May 9 (YPA) – Tehran Deputy Governor Seyyed Kamaluddin Mirjafarian announced that more than 70% of the damage inflicted on the province by the recent war has been repaired, including damage to approximately 60,000 residential units.

He explained that the attacks caused widespread damage to infrastructure, residential, service, and military units, in addition to damage to a large number of public facilities and about 11,000 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles. However, repair work is proceeding at a rapid pace.

He stated that water, electricity, gas, and fuel teams intervened from the first hours, and most outages were brought under control within the first few days. The electricity situation has almost returned to normal, while repair work continues on water, sewage, and fuel supplies.

In the housing sector, approximately 40,000 out of 60,000 units with minor damage (70% to 80%) have been repaired, and reconstruction work has begun on about 1,000 units with moderate damage or requiring reinforcement, while municipalities are continuing to remove rubble, especially in 17 severely damaged locations.

Regarding vehicles, the files for approximately 8,000 vehicles have been completed and assessed by the Central Bank and the Iranian Insurance Company, and the first phase of compensation payments has begun, with a maximum of 30 million tomans, and approximately 100 vehicles have been compensated so far.
