Settlers attack Palestinians in Ramallah, Nablus amid escalating West Bank violence

QUDS, May 09 (YPA) – Several Israeli occupation’s settlers attacked on Saturday the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, sparking confrontations with Palestinian residents, while the occupation forces later entered the area and detained two Palestinians, according to Palestinian sources.

The incident came as settlers also carried out attacks in the south of Nablus, where two Palestinian women were injured during assaults on homes in the town of Aqraba and nearby areas.

Local sources said armed settlers attacked homes belonging to the Al-Khatib family in the Wadi al-Hajj Issa area between Jurish and Aqraba, throwing stones and firing live ammunition.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that its crews treated two injured women, including a 65-year-old and a 35-year-old pregnant woman, following the settler attack.

Residents said the Wadi al-Hajj Issa area has witnessed repeated assaults by settlers targeting Palestinians and their property in an effort to force them from the area

Violence by the occupation forces and the settlers across the West Bank has intensified in recent months. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 1,637 attacks carried out by Israeli forces and settlers during April alone.
