Araghchi: We have yet to receive US response on conditions to reopen the Strait of Hormuz

TEHRAN, Sept. 29 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday that Tehran had yet to receive a response from Washington to its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that Iran would not retreat from its position.

According to Araghchi, Iran is prepared for both diplomacy and any military confrontation, adding that Tehran was awaiting Washington’s final position through mediators before making a decision.

He said reopening the Strait of Hormuz was tied to the implementation of specific Iranian conditions, adding that Tehran still believed negotiations could pave the way for resolving outstanding issues.

Araghchi had proposed a plan under which Washington would take specific steps within several days, followed by the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the resumption of negotiations. He stressed that Iran is prepared for various scenarios.
