Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon leave several casualties

LEBANON, Jan. 21 (YPA) – Israeli occupation aircraft launched a series of heavy airstrikes on several towns in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, resulting in casualties amid an escalation targeting civilian areas and media crews.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that two people were killed due to two separate strikes targeting vehicles in the towns of Zahrani and Bazzourieh.

In the Nabatieh district, airstrikes destroyed a house in the town of Kfour and a building in Jarjou, while additional raids targeted the town of Qanarit.

The aggression involved a direct strike near a gathering of media personnel in Qanarit, resulting in minor injuries to several journalists while they were conducting field coverage.

This occurred despite the presence of about ten journalists in the vicinity. The attacks coincided with intense reconnaissance drone activity following prior threats issued by the occupation army against residential buildings in those areas.
