Gaza government unveils comprehensive recovery plans after two years of Israeli genocide

GAZA, Oct. 21 (YPA) – Ismail al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, affirmed on Tuesday that the government has developed comprehensive plans to enforce security, uphold the rule of law, and support the relief and recovery of the Gaza Strip after two years of Israeli genocide.

In a press statement, Ismail al-Thawabta emphasized that security, food, medicine, and shelter are the current priorities.

He noted that the security situation has improved by more than 90% following intensive efforts by security forces.

Al-Thawabta outlined that the second phase focuses on providing food and humanitarian assistance to all affected families, followed by the provision of medicine, medical supplies, and the restoration of the healthcare system in hospitals and clinics.

He explained that over 22,000 injured and sick individuals urgently need to travel for treatment and that half a million surgeries are required. Additionally, 288,000 families are homeless and need tents and temporary mobile homes.

Al-Thawabta called for the full opening of the crossings to allow the necessary equipment for rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure, stressing that the sector contains about 70 million tons of rubble.

He also noted that the Rafah Crossing will soon be reopened after repairs, with priority given to the travel of the injured, patients, and university students.

Al-Thawabta further affirmed that the government is moving forward with the comprehensive recovery phase and urged citizens to support the governmental teams to complete this critical phase as quickly as possible.
